Microsystems & Nanoengineering Summit 2014: International Symposium on Applications and Potential of Mico- and Nano-Sensors has been successfully held in Beijing during August 6-8. This symposium is co-sponsored by Academic Division of Information Technical Sciences, Institute of Electronics at Chinese Academy of Sciences(IECAS), Society of Circuits and Systems of Chinese Institute of Electronics and Chinese Society of Micro-Nano Technology.

This symposium is to gather leading scientists in M/NEMS in the world with senior scientists and young researchers in China to discuss the state-of-the-art and the future of micro- and nano-sensing technology. This event provided an opportunity to establish collaborations and to exchange ideas with colleagues, and is believed to play a significant role in the promotion of the fast growth of micro- and nano-sensors and microsystems. Another goal of this conference is to discuss a new open access journal named “Microsystems and Nanoengineering”.  It will be co-published by Nature Publishing Group in UK and IECAS in China.

Topics of this meeting covered physical sensors, chemical/biological sensors, sensing systems, advanced manufacturing of sensors, sensor applications and commercialization. These are 28 outstanding experts from USA, Canada, Australia, UK, Switzerland, Sweden, Japan and China reported their excellent works in M/NEMS, and this symposium attracts more than 200 domestic participants including professors, researchers, students and representatives of enterprises.
