Approved by the State Council of the People's Republic Of China, the Institute of Electronics, ChineseAcademy of Sciences(IECAS) is among the first group of institutes authorized to confer doctorate and master's degrees when the graduate program was resumed in 1978. Since then, IECAS has already trained more than 600 excellent doctors and masters for the country. IECAS set up the post-doctoral station of "information and communication engineering" in 1999 and the post-doctoral station of "Electronic Sciences and Technology" in 2002. There are nealrly 60 professors who supervise the graduate students, about 350 doctoral candidates and M.A. candidates and 12 post-doctor researchers at the station now. During the years from 1997, 8 graduate students won splendid scholarships, 5 graduate students obtained YILIDA awards, 9 graduate students were rewarded HUAWEI awards, 5 graduate students obtained YINGKE awards, 4 graduate students were rewarded LIUYONGLING awards. Besides, one graduate won the National Award for top ten Achievements of Science and Technology in the year of 1998.

ow 560 professionals and staffs work at IECAS, 138 advanced professional posts, 142 medium posts; 160 of them hold doctor degrees or master degrees. In order to guarantee the harmony of pilot work of the Project of Knowledge Innovation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and to build a high-quality innovative team, the IECAS strieves to train hard, attract, condense domestic and international outstanding professionals, strengthens the construction of team, adjusts theteam's structure constantly, establishes and perfects new-type employing and incentive mechanism, offers strong organization and personnel guarantee for the Project of Knowledge Innovation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
