To learn the development trends in the radar field, to increase the awareness of the Journal of Radars and to enhance interactive communication between the authors and readers, the Editorial Board of the Journal of Radars, assigning three representatives including Deputy Director Liu Tuanjie, attended the 12th Chinese Radar Conference held in Wuhan, China from November 4 th to 6 th, 2012, which is the largest academic conference in the radar field held in China in 2012 and in which nearly 300 delegates attended the conference.

This radar conference was sponsored by the Air Force Early Warning Academy. Journal of Radars, as an exhibition attending party and partner, obtained the only propaganda booth in the main venue of the conference, in addition to a normal exhibition booth, and the journal was selected as the recommended journal for excellent papers at the conference.

To take part in the exhibition, the Editorial Board of Journal of Radars made deliberate preparations, specially the folded flyer introducing the journals, and CDs containing electronic Journal of Radars of the first three issues of 2012. Moreover, the Editorial Board has carefully prepared two 0.8×2 m roll-up exhibition boards, one 3×1.2 m large exhibition board and six 0.9×1.2 m small exhibition boards.

During the conference, the Editorial Board of Journal of Radars introduced the operational situations of Journal of Radars comprehensively from multiple views and levels on different occasions, including the sponsorship, editorial board, editing and publishing flow, and characteristic service (network-based publication with priority, DOI registration, short message notification), and emphasized the mission of Journal of Radars as “being based upon high end, offering excellent service, and ensuring rapid publication”.

Many representatives came to the booth of the Journal of Radars to inquire some specific publication situations of the journal. In addition, Prof. Wang Yongliang (Associate Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Radars) from the Air Force Early Warning Academy, Prof. Peng Yingning (member of Editorial Board of the Journal of Radars) from Tsinghua University, and Prof. Zhang Qun (member of Editorial Board of the Journal of Radars) from the Air Force Engineering University, etc., came to the booth successively to inquire the work progress of the journal and gave some valuable suggestions.
