“Research on Key Technologies for Large-Scale FPGA Chip Design” Successfully Passes the Acceptance

On October 25, the acceptance expert group constituted by more than 10 experts from Tsinghua University, China Electronics Technology Group Corporation, China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation as well as Institute of Automation, Institute of Microelectronics and Institute of Semiconductors of Chinese Academy of Sciences and other units gathered in the Institute of Electronics for acceptance review of the important direction project “Research on Key Technologies for Large-Scale FPGA Chip Design” of the CAS Knowledge Innovation Project led by the Laboratory of Programmable Chip and System of the Institute of Electronics and unanimously agreed that the project passed the acceptance.

The acceptance expert group listened carefully to the project acceptance summary report made by the project leader Yang Haigang and the subject technical reports made by the Institute of Electronics, Institute of Microelectronics and Shenyang Institute of Automation, and reviewed the technical documents, test reports and fund inspection reports of the project. The acceptance group reached the consensus that the subject completed the tasks under the contract and all indicators reached and even some exceeded the project initial goals in the assignment, and reached an agreement of its pass of the acceptance.

“Research on Key Technologies for Large-Scale FPGA Chip Design” project, oriented to the national key project requirements, has developed “Comet02” series of FPGA products and also independently developed FPGA chip software design system. The project has achieved great breakthrough in the full-forward design, high-reliability design, full-functional test and other key technologies of the large-scale FPGA chip hardware and software, and is innovative in the architecture design of programmable logic devices, the multi-pin programmable I/O reliability design and FPGA software system design. The products have been applied in multiple practical user engineering system circuits.

The smooth concluding of the project lays a foundation for the Institute of Electronics to further undertake and develop the high-performance programmable logic chip with independent intellectual property rights, provides the technical support and guarantee for the independency and controllability of China’s core electronic devices and is of great significance to promote the development of China’s technology of programmable system on chip.
