ARSS equipment detailing review completed

On November 12, the project manager department of the aerial remote sensing system (ARSS) held a meeting on the detailing review of the remote sensing information acquisition system to review the detailing reports of four subsystems-wide-band imaging spectrometer, push-broom hyperspectral imager, atmospheric composition detection system and high-resolution area-array aerial camera. The department established a review expert panel, which was headed by Ding Chibiao, chief engineer of the system and deputy director of the Institute of Electronics, CAS (IECAS), and consisted of experts from the Disaster Reduction Center of the Ministry of Civil Affairs, Beijing Institute of Technology, Center for Earth Observation and Digital Earth (CEODE), Chinese Academy of Science (CAS), Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics, CAS, and IECAS. Guo Huadong, chief scientist of the system and director of CEODE; Wang Jiaqi, academician and member of the commission on ARSS science and technology; researcher Fan Yida; project supervisor and researcher Ni Guoqiang; and other experts were present.


The panel listened to the detailing and quality reports by the Shanghai Institute of Technical Physics, CAS ;Chengdu Institute of Optics and Electronics, CAS and Anhui Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, CAS, as well as the data review report by the data review group of the project manager department and the quality review report by the system quality controller. Upon inquiry and deliberation, the panel offered opinions on modification and improvement, and approved the detailing of the four subsystems.


To be geared for equipment operation, while the research units were preparing detailing reports, the project manager department organized professionals for a pre-review of the detailing data of the four subsystems, and worked out the Measures for Detailing Review Administration. According to the Measures, the department established a pre-review panel consisting of overall quality controllers and experts to define the review responsibilities of experts. After project pre-view, the department would convene the relevant designers of subsystems for face-to-face communication and explanation, and for further identification and confirmation of problems with interfaces and IDS.


Before review, the signing of optical, mechanical, electrical and control IDS of ARSS had been completed. Detailing review, a key node of the system construction, marks the development of the system sensors will make a full switch production and construction. (Yang Jiabo)
