No. 11 Institute Holds Report Meeting in Respect of Intellectual Property Law and Patent Application

On the morning of August 30th, 2010, Vice Researcher Song Hefa from the Scientific Policy and Management Science Research Institute of CAS visited our laboratory, and he made an amazing report in respect of China’s intellectual property policy and patent application etc. for our laboratory’s master candidates and employees.

Mr. Song has years of experiences in intellectual property agency sector, and he is adept at patent application in such fields as electronics and computer.

In his report, Mr. Song firstly reviewed the history of China’s intellectual property system, introduced the patent system’s origin and interesting stories in its evolvement process, briefly narrated current situation and development trend of the world intellectual property, and elaborated China patent system’s development and recent patent applications. Besides, Mr. Song further detailed different patent kinds, patent application flows, patent application documents & compiling methods, and right-claiming document and instruction’s compiling notices. In the meantime, he listed plenty of instances to make a meticulous analysis on possible mistakes and oversights during the patent document compiling process. As to interested questions relating to overseas patent application, Mr. Song gave exhaustive replies. Finally, Mr. Song reminded attendees of the patent search’s important role in the scientific research, and he also introduced the casip.ac.cn’s usage, in addition to demonstrating the website’s characteristic functions on site.

In the wake of the report, attendees successively put forward their interested questions, and Mr. Song  answered these questions one by one. The report helps broaden attendees’ horizon, advance their patent document compiling level, and enhance their knowledge to intellectual property. That will contribute to the improvement of our institute’s patent application and intellectual property protection level. (By Xie Yuanlu of the No. 11 Institute)
