The third “Overseas Talents Entering CAS Week” in Chinese Academy of Science was formally launched on June 10. 79 overseas talent representatives were invited to visit Chinese Academy of Science and communicated with domestic outstanding young talents.
On June 21, four overseas young scholars respectively coming from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in the U.S., Technische Universität Ilmenau in German, University of Ottawa in Canada and Massachusetts Institute of Technology the U.S. chose to visit our institute for academic communications. Liang Xingdong, Head of the 1st Department of our institute, Tan Rongqing, Head of the 5th Department and Lu Congcong, Head of Personnel Education Department and scientific researchers as well as postgraduates totaling more than 50 persons attended the academic exchange activity. This meeting is held by Director Liang Xingdong.
Mr. Lu, the head of the department extended a warm welcome to the four overseas scholars and introduced the situations of activity “Overseas Talents Entering CAS”. Director Liang introduced the fundamental situations of the four outstanding young talents. Then four overseas young scholars respectively gave wonderful reports to our institute’s researchers and postgraduates and conducted deep academic communication and interactions with the scientific researchers attending the meeting. After the meeting, overseas young scholars further visited relevant research offices. The communication promoted the cooperation between our institute and overseas young talents, broadening the horizon of scientific researchers in our institute.
Wu Yirong, Director of Institute paid great attention to the visit of overseas young scholars, visiting them and conducting deep communication with them. He hoped that the visiting scholars could pay more visits to strengthen cooperation and communication and strive to do some work for scientific research cause in China.
As one of the Serial Activities of Chinese Academy of Science Talent Development Thematic Activity Days, “Overseas Talents Entering CAS Week” is one of the important measures of the talent development strategy of “Innovative 2020” in our institute focusing on establishing the communication and contact mechanism with overseas talents and publicizing national and talent measures and policies of Chinese Academy of Science, establishing a long term cooperative and dual-way selection platform by means of inviting overseas outstanding technological talents to visit relevant institutes of Chinese Academy of Science together .
