On June 25, 2013, Wu Yirong, Director of Institute of Electronics, Chinese Academy of Sciences and the delegation went to Electronic Science and Engineering School of Nanjing University for visit and survey accompanied by Zhang Yi, Head of the Technology Department. In this survey, Director Wu Yirong was warmly received by Zhang Rong, Managing Deputy President of Nanjing University, Zheng Youke, professor of Academician of Chinese Academy of Science, Professor Wu Peiheng, Academician of Chinese Academy of Science and Shi Yi, President of Electronic Science and Engineering School.
Director Wu first came to Xianlin Campus of Nanjing University and gave a speech titled “Interfering Synthetic Aperture Radar- the application of a new technology” in Report Hall of Panzhonglai Building in Xianlin Campus attracting over 200 postgraduates of Nanjing University Electronic Science and Engineering School. From the perspective of research background, the main technological difficulties and achievements as well as application situation, Director Wu explained profound theories in simple and humorous terms, arousing wide interests among students on the scene. After the speech, students made active response and asked questions, all of which were patiently answered by Director Wu. Afterwards, accompanied by Zhang Rong, Managing Deputy President of Nanjing University, Director Wu visited the History Museum of Nanjing University. Deputy President Zhang introduced the one hundred years history of Nanjing University and its development prospective. After leaving Xian Lin Campus, Director Wu went to Gulou Campus of Nanjing University and conducted academic communication with teachers in Electronic Science and Engineering School. Director Wu listened to the report given by Professor Yan Feng titled “Single Chip Level Pixel Imaging Device” and watched the demonstration of its achievement.
Finally Director Wu and Deputy President Zhang Rong communicated friendly and both parties expressed intention of project cooperation and talent cultivation.
